Tibetan uprising

The people of Tibet are facing an issue related to their homeland for centuries. Tibet is facing isolation from its neighbors since long. Existing as an independent kingdom since long there was a Tibetan uprising in the year 1959. The revolt was not successful however since then the situation there is tense. As the Chinese migrants settled in the Tibetan island, the ethnic Tibetans have seen a growth in the economic development of their homeland.

The people of Tibet are facing an issue related to their homeland for centuries.

In the year 2008, there were mass demonstrations and riots in Tibet remembering the 1959 uprising against the Chinese rule. There were violence in the street and innumerable Chinese and Tibetans were wounded and many more deaths were reported.

In the late 1950s, Tibetan nationalism grew and with the support of CIA, in the year 1959 Tibetan initiated an uprising. The Chinese military defeated them and the consequence was that the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India. Once there he established the Tibetan government in Exile.  The Tibetans suffered a lot and Cultural Revolution led to the closing of several sites. The Tibetans has a feeling that they are discriminated against in their own land by the ruling Chinese. There is still existence of battle and violence in the region and peace is awaited by all.
