Human beings have been endowed with great powers by nature and they seem to be using it in a wrong way. They have this belief that they are in direct competition with each and every form of life on earth whereas they have forgotten that the very survival of the human beings depends on numerous species. But the sad part is that this ignorance about the importance of the myriad species is causing a massive extinction of species.
Along with global warming, ocean warming is also causing a lot of problems for the oceanic ecosystem. Furthermore, the increasing load of commercial fishing has threatened the very survival of fish in the ocean which will soon be depleted if it is not stopped very soon. Moreover, there is also a huge threat to precious micro ecosystems that support life forms on earth due to the practice of modern agricultural system. The most important species, namely the bees, that pollinate our food are also now on the brink of extinction. This is the result of mite infestation and the recent Colony Collapse Disorder.
All living beings rely on natural ecosystems to survive. Though with the modern technology everything is possible from production to distribution of food however human beings have still not mastered the environment. Human being for the most part of their survival depends on the ecosystem and that itself is destabilized. Something is needed to be done for stabilizing it so that future of the ecosystem and the living beings as a whole should be intact.
